The apartment

Bedrooms

There are four bedrooms, two with double beds, two with twin beds. Each bedroom has air conditioning and its own bathroom: the two double bedrooms lead directly onto the terrace and have both bath and shower. One twin has just a bath, and one a walk-in shower.

Kitchen

There are two ovens, one of which is also a microwave, an induction hob and a dishwasher. The kitchen is extremely well-equipped with kitchen gadgets, good knives, and plenty of china, glassware and cutlery. Our cleaners now make an additional visit during the week to assist with recycling disposal.

Laundry

There is a separate laundry room with washer, dryer, iron and ironing-board.

Parking and access

We have two private parking spaces in the basement garage, which has direct lift access to the apartment. Please note that there is only one parking space during low season.

There is WiFi throughout the apartment, an i-pod dock, and a satellite TV and DVD player.  There is a good selection of board games, puzzles, books and DVDs.

Getting around

Le Vele is a couple of minutes' walk from the ferry terminal, which has frequent boats up and down the lake. From here you can easily get to Como, Bellagio, Menaggio or Lenno, and visit wonderful lakeside villas, such as Villa Carlotta and Villa Balbianello. We recommend that you pick up an 'orario' from the ferry terminal when you arrive - timetables change frequently - and there is also a local bus service.

Local activities include sunbathing and swimming at the Lido di Argegno (a small fee for entrance), which is two minutes walk with no roads to cross, or at the Lidos in Lenno or Menaggio. You can hire a power boat (there is a private jetty, but please contact us for details of where to dock) or go sailing, take a trip in the seaplane, play tennis or golf, and shop in Como. There is also a local bus service to Foxtown, a large out-of-town outlet centre.

Alternatively, you can do nothing but while away the days gazing at the gentle traffic on the Lake, and wandering into Argegno in the evenings for an Aperol Spritz and dinner at one of the restaurants in the piazza.
